The Cincinnati Reds added a veteran pitcher on Saturday, agreeing to terms with righty Frankie Montas on a one-year, $16 million contract, sources told ESPN.

The deal is pending a physical.

Chris Flexen agreed to a $1.75 million, one-year contract with the Chicago White Sox, giving manager Pedro Grifol another possibility for his rotation.

Flexen played for Seattle and Colorado this season, going 2-8 with a 6.86 ERA in 29 games, with 16 starts. The right-hander is 27-34 with a 4.95 ERA in 120 major league appearances, including 80 starts.

Right-hander Lucas Giolito and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a two-year, $38.5 million contract, sources told ESPN, locking up the innings-eating veteran as the starting pitching market begins to move.

The deal includes an opt-out after the first season and includes innings-based performance bonuses that can bring the total value to $40.5 million.

The Cincinnati Reds are bringing back Buck Farmer on a one-year, $2.25 million deal.

Farmer hit free agency after he went 4-5 with three saves and a 4.20 ERA in 71 appearances for the Reds this past season.

He can earn $350,000 in performance bonuses for games pitched: $50,000 each for 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 65. He had a $1.75 million, one-year contract this past season.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a one-year, $1.8 million deal with left-handed reliever Tim Hill.

Hill, 33, was 1-4 with a 5.48 ERA in 48 appearances for the San Diego Padres last year. He missed most of the second half of the season because of a sprained left finger and had surgery on Sept. 20.

Gold Glove-winning center fielder Kevin Kiermaier is staying in Toronto, agreeing to a $10.5 million, one-year contract.

The team announced the contract on Thursday. The Blue Jays also have Daulton Varsho and George Springer in their outfield.

The 33-year-old Kiermaier hit .265 with 8 homers and 36 RBIs in 129 games in his first season with Toronto. He also won his fourth Gold Glove.

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with Isiah Kiner-Falefa on a two-year, $15 million contract, according to a source.

The deal includes up to $1 million in incentives and is pending a physical.

Kiner-Falefa, 28, played all over the field for the New York Yankees in 2023.

The Minnesota Twins agreed to terms with right-handed reliever Josh Staumont on a one-year contract on Wednesday, the team's first major league free agency move of the offseason.

Staumont, 30, pitched five seasons for the Kansas City Royals, saving eight games with a 4.01 ERA. The hard-throwing righty has 191 strikeouts in 168 1/3 innings.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with Kevin Kiermaier, according to a report.

The deal, which is pending a physical, will pay the outfielder $10.5 million in guaranteed money.

The 33-year-old, known for his defense, slashed .265/.322/.419 in 408 plate appearances for the Blue Jays in 2023.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with catcher Martin Maldonado, sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

Maldonado, 37, replaces Yasmani Grandal behind the plate, as the latter left via free agency after spending four years with the White Sox. Maldonado also rejoins former teammate Korey Lee, who was traded from the Houston Astros to Chicago last summer.
